Spring Spiral Hat + Lily Sugar'n Cream Stripes

Today I started crocheting this unusual hat. It's the Spring Spiral Hat from Interweave Press. Well, it's unusual to me, in that you are working with two colours of yarn at the same time, dropping one for one round, then dropping the other for the other round.

I had to do a little fudging and careful ripping back because 1) I am using a different yarn than called for and also I am using a different sized hook than called for; 2) my head is not *that* large! LOL! I guess it really will be 23 inches in circumference if you follow the directions. Anyway, I've gotten the increases completed, and I'm pretty sure it'll be the right size for me now. Tomorrow I can just do the rest of the hat. I plan on making a flower for it too--I saw that some on Ravelry who had made this hat also added a flower.

I'm doing the hat in a green and pale pink to go with the green/blue/pink Fun Fur scarf I'm knitting.

Bunnicula had to go to the shopping center today anyway, so he got me some more Lily Sugar'n Cream Stripes (self-striping) yarn. I got a booklet on Sunday that had patterns particularly for this yarn. So I now have three hat-and-scarf sets in mind for this yarn.
