Warm Up...huh?
For the National Day of Service, I managed to crochet one rectangle for the Warm Up America! project (afghans for those in need), and Bunnicula took it over to Michaels to drop it off in their collection bin (which I remember seeing there in the past, and that all the Michaels stores are supposed to have). No bin. I phoned Michaels' HQ. The lady I talked to phoned the store manager to find out what was going on. Apparently there had not been many donations, so B. was/is supposed to just give the square to the manager and she'll get it to the right place. :-/
Anyway, 30 minutes crafting time?! Ha! Only if you're Lily Chin. :-P Okay, she could do it in five minutes or less. It took me a couple hours, but that included several restarts to get my gauge right. And I was still crocheting more tightly than I usually do, to get the size exactly right. Owee, my poor fingers and wrist. But if I go down one more hook size (to relax and crochet normally), I'd be using an F hook (3.75mm). I don't know if an F would grab the worsted weight yarn effectively. I was using a G hook (4.25mm). Well, I'll try an F next time.
