I was up early. After breakfast I flushed out several fountain pens I just am not using right now and am not totally happy with the pen/ink combos I'd chosen.
Then I played Animal Crossing: City Folk for HOURS. The town is still perfect--yay! 13 more days, then we'll get gold watering cans.
I made a perfect snowman, so I'll get a third piece of the Snowman furniture in the mail tomorrow...uh in New_Hope, not here IRL. heh.
It has been snowing off and on all day (IRL--it *was* snowing early this morning in New_Hope), but we really only have a fine covering of snow out there. Still, very pretty. :-)
I was checking my other fountain pens this afternoon, the ones I'm using now. I discovered that my el cheapo ($12) Pilot pen was leaking ink all in the cap, and that something was wrong around the base of the nib. That's where the ink was coming from. It turns out the nib came totally off the feed. Bunnicula offered to take it downtown to the pen store for repair, but I said it would cost more to repair it than its purchase price! But it was such a NICE pen: nice fine line, smoooth writer. I used it a lot on Christmas cards last month. It was red, and I had Diamine Woodland Green ink in it. ::sniff::
I have been thinking, for the last couple of months or so, of getting a more expensive Asian pen. I want a yellow Sailor 1911M Colors pen. I have been advised to get a medium nib, as this will be like a Western fine nib. An Asian fine nib will probably be too fine for me. If I get one, I'll buy it from
John Mottishaw, who is highly respected in the pen community.
