Tim Russert
Twitters from yesterday first:
So hard to believe about Tim Russert dying. I lost it when Keith was having trouble controlling his voice. Rest in peace Tim. about 17 hours ago from txt
I keep thinking Tim Russert will come on the air, say it was all a mistake, & let's get on with politics. :'''-/ about 11 hours ago from txt

From my paper journal:
Friday, June 13th:
6pm: Thunderstorms came, and we shut down our computers. I thought I'd turn on TV to see what was up (about 4:15pm) and learned the beloved and *excellent* journalist Tim Russert has just died. He was only 58. They *think* it was a heart attack. It finally really got to me, during MSNBC's coverage, when Keith Olbermann was having trouble controlling his voice. Chuck Todd looked awful, maybe like he'd even been crying. I'm recording a special Larry King show tonight that will be a tribute to Tim Russert. He meant a lot to Bunnicula and me because he was a down-to-earth but sharp and learned man who was there for all the primary coverage and everything else politics-related we've been watching all this year. Apparently, off the air, he was the ideal father and had a wonderful relationship with *his* dad. And he was kind of like a father-figure to everyone at NBC and especially MSNBC. He was the moderator of "Meet the Press." And he was so highly regarded by everyone in journalism *and* politics. It will be so weird watching any political coverage, especially the Democratic National Convention in August and the election returns in November, and Tim Russert won't be there. :-(
10:30pm: His doctor said they had done an autopsy, and it definitely was a heart attack.

I haven't looked at any news today. I have been keeping Tim Russert's family and co-workers and friends in my thoughts and prayers. It's still such a shock...
