Well, I went for my yearly mammogram. I had been dreading it. Maybe I knew something was up on a subconscious level.
Everything is okay/the same with the left/irradiated one. The right one the radiologist asked for an ultrasound on. He was seeing something there that he wasn't sure if it was a cyst or what.
After that I traipsed back over to the surgeon's office (imaging place and her place are on the same floor of the same building). She said the ultrasound showed it to be a "thickening" of the tissue in one area. She can't feel it, but it shows up on the mammogram and on the ultrasound. It wasn't there last year.
So on Friday morning (10:30am, I think) I am having an ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy. ::sigh:: Not again (what I had back in 2001, on the left one). The surgeon will phone me next Tuesday with the results.
Not happy with this. Worried, obviously. Could use all good thoughts and prayers.
Am gonna post this to an online group I am on also. I don't feel like typing this again.
I am making this public because, hey ladies, get those mammograms!
