Look Ma, I can drink water and eat! (medical update)
It's after midnight, and I am drinking water...and I can eat anything I want too! Which means: no surgery tomorrow!
I saw my surgeon today. I related to her that I have not been having
any of the discharge since I last saw her (a month ago). So she said that that information, coupled with the benign nature of the fluid she was able to extract at the end of July, meant that she was of a mind of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". She said it was up to me if I wanted to go ahead with the surgery. I can see now, after thinking about it more this afternoon and evening, that some women might say "go ahead, it will relieve my mind, this way this will never crop up again". But my worry was that the irradiated tissue would not heal properly (which she had advised me about last visit). So I decided against surgery. She said come back in three months, unless anything changes. She said that if it were anything dangerous, anything cancerous, it would have been getting progressively worse. It has not done that.
So no surgery. :-) Thank you EVERYONE for all your good thoughts and prayers--I am sure that had something to do with this!
