THIS time I got in on the sale!

Last time when Herrschners was having a big sale on a yarn I wanted, I was too late. That was Moda Dea Dream (93 yards per skein), going at 77 cents a skein. Soft and yummy.

This time it is also 77 cents a skein, but a lot more yardage per skein! It's Red Heart Symphony, and there's 310 yards per skein. I have made a hat and scarf from it and also a scarf/stole. It is incredibly soft and lightweight, but WARM. It has been compared to mohair.

So I just now ordered:

4 skeins Redwood
4 skeins Juniper
4 skeins Persimmon
4 skeins Earth Brown
4 skeins Tundra (a new colour to me--looks like ice)

I didn't order any of the Taupe because that was not on sale. All the other colours they have left are on sale. So I got 20 skeins of yarn for $1.13 a skein (includes shipping).

They don't have these sales unless something is being discontinued. I can't find Red Heart Symphony at JoAnn's online now nor at Knitting-Warehouse. I haven't seen it in stores for years.

So even though I have some stashed here now, I thought I'd better get a bit more. The last stop will be eBay and Ravelry, and I really don't like to go that route if I can buy from a "real" store.

I'd better go copy all those customer reviews from JoAnn's--people had some good ideas of things to make with Red Heart Symphony and other yarns to mix it with!

Pens and writing and My Fun Facts Coach

I flushed out seven (!) pens this evening. Nibs/sections are soaking now.

I still have five pens inked: my brother's Parker '51' (Parker Quink Washable Blue), a Lamy Joy calligraphy pen (Sheaffer NOS Lavender), my yellow Sailor 1911M Colors (Sailor Jentle Brown), a lime-green Lamy Safari (Lamy green), and a Lamy aluminum AL-Star (Lamy blue-black).

So sitting in the bedroom (where I'm not now) with my Eee at hand, I caught up in my paper journal. I had not written in a MONTH! I just did a synopsis, using my IJ as a guide.

Soon: supper and "Disney Fairies: TinkerBell". I just got a copy of My Fun Facts Coach for the DS. Interesting! It's sorta like Brain Age, but not. You take daily quizzes, and it charts your progress. You learn a lot, but it's not as hectic as Brain Age and Big Brain Academy.
