Twitters of the Day

What I have been twittering about today:

  • 08:36 They are just now plowing our driveways. The people next door had their back drive/parking area plowed at midnight. War on snow. :-/ #
  • 08:38 It's 14*F. out right now. By the end of the week we'll have high temps. in the 50's. #
  • 08:40 We got about 6 inches of snow? Or more? Hard to tell with blowing and drifting yesterday. Some places got 10 inches! Very localized! #
  • 19:28 @indigonightbird The snow we had was extremely localized. Only two or three counties in our area got it! #
  • 22:45 Need to finish loom knitted hat tomorrow. I call it the Zombies Are Eating My Brain hat, because of the colours. :-P #
  • 22:46 After I finish the hat, I'm gonna crochet some washcloths...maybe knit some too, although crochet is faster for me. #

Temperature

It was 1*F. (-17*C.) when I got online, around 6:30am. Then about 7am it went up to 2*F.(-16*C.)--woohoo! Now it's MINUS 1*F. (-18*C.) now!

I need to put some socks on.

Groceries

I'm hoping Bunnicula will walk over to the shopping center today and get us some cold things (ice cream, frozen dinners, maybe margarine too). It's not supposed to go above freezing today, so he should be able to get back with things in pretty good shape. He always takes a "cold bag" (insulated bag) with ice blocks in it.

The reason I want him to get things on foot is that Cat'r might not be coming up this weekend, so today would be the best day to do this. After today, the high temperatures are supposed to be in the 50's!

Yarn-y stuff, plus what else to do today

Today I hope to finish loom-knitting the Zombies Are Eating My Brain hat. :-P

It turns out: the *director* of the teen shelter was the one who said that teens didn't like Lion Brand Homespun yarn, NOT the teens. Aha!

After I finish the hat, I hope to start on a cotton washcloth, probably crocheted. Maybe I'll print out a few interesting patterns first.

And I definitely want to go to Pixie Hollow in "Disney Fairies: TinkerBell" on the DS.

Maybe a nap is in order later today--I didn't get a lot of sleep last night.

NaBloPoMo monthly theme: WANT

I could try to write something serious (and maybe I will later on this month), but what I want right now is MORE YARN! I'd like to be able to stock up on Lion Brand Homespun yarn, but I just don't have the money. It needs to be on a really good sale before I'll buy any.

Okay, seriously: my wanting yarn is nothing compared to people wanting enough money to stay in their homes, have enough food, and all the basic necessities of life.

True, this time I want this yarn so I can make things for people who are worse off than I am, so it's for charity. But still.

TinkerBell

Bunnicula and I just finished watching this movie. It was so beautiful! And cute and funny and touching and and ... great!

As it was opening, when we got to Pixie Hollow, we kept saying, "Oh look! That's what we see every day!" and "Look! It's just like in the game!" etc.

So...I don't know if the movie came first or the video game. They are so faithful, one to the other. All the people you see every day in the game are in the movie. The one thing I wish they could've done in the game is have Queen Clarion move around. In the game she stays in her special chamber in the Tree. In the movie she makes the most awe-inspiring entrances! Just gorgeous!

The music: lots of Celtic-sounding music. Loreena McKennitt sings one of the songs, plus she is the narrator. I don't remember the person who sings the song during the credits, but it was very good. So we need to get the soundtrack. :-)

One of my favourite characters in the movie is a cute mousie named Cheese. "You call him Cheese?" "Well, he comes when we say his name." :-P

If you like fairies at all, if you like TinkerBell, if you like Disney movies, if you like cute wonderful inspiring movies, see this movie!
