Freezing rain and roof leaks

I got up around 6am. It has been raining...freezing rain...all night.

There are two leaks in our roof/ceiling at the moment. One is inconsequential, and we can just walk around it. I have paper towels on the floor.

The other is above the windows/windowsill right by the TV, cable modem, and other electronic equipment and my nice wooden record cabinet. I got the Wii out of there. It had splashes of water on it. I hope none got in it. We've got paper towels down, a 9x13 baking pan under the longer drip. Someone is supposed to come look at it today, but there's not much they can do until the ice is gone, which will probably be days from now.

I'm just glad I got up when I did, then happened to be walking right under the less-serious leak when it dripped. Talk about the timing of the universe!

I'm on my Eee in the bedroom, but I'm plugged in. I want to keep the Eee charged up.

Okay, back to finishing eating my breakfast.

SNOW!

Right after I posted my last entry, the rain changed to snow, and it's REALLY coming down!

Cat'r phoned: he's going to telecommute today. I think we're going to Skype around noontime. :-)

If I "disappear"

This is a recap plus I've been posting a variation of this to all the groups I'm in and will also post it to CountryMouse's Diary on my website:

We have a couple leaks in our roof/ceiling. I thought they'd fixed all that when they put the new roof on...10 years ago? Oops. We are on the third/top floor of our apartment building. There's a flat roof above us. So lots of ice and snow up there.

One leak is not in a terrible place. We can just walk around it, mostly. We have paper towels on the floor. The bad leak is at the ceiling/wall over our living room windows. It's right by our cable modem, TV, DVD player, game machines, etc. It's quite possible we'll have to unplug the cable modem and everything else when things thaw and it starts to drip more again. It's slowed way down since the freezing rain we had all yesterday afternoon and all night changed to snow this morning.

SO: if you don't see me here, this is the one place I can still post to, because I can post from my cell phone there (it's not a "smart phone", just a cell phone with a QWERTY keyboard):

Plus all my tweets of the day are shipped here every night as one post. So you can just wait and catch up here. :-P

I'll keep posting via computer as long as I can. Maybe I won't have to be offline at all--I hope!
