I got to bed around 8:30pm, then got up at 3:30am. I am keeping such weeeeird hours.

It's cold out. I know, because I had the bedroom window open briefly. We have hot-water heat here, and the pipes in the floors and walls sometimes make it almost too warm in here in our top-floor apartment. So I sometimes have to open a window or two, to cool things down.

I love when it's so quiet too. We live on a main drag. But sometimes in the middle of the night, there is NO traffic, anywhere. It's very peaceful.

I love that there are two houses across the way that still have their Christmas lights up. They are helping to keep the dark away and make things cheerier. And also helping me not feel guilty for keeping *our* decorations up. We *need* pretty lights in January!

It's going to get COLD by the end of the week, with highs in the teens (F.) and lows in the single digits. Better make sure I have all my warm sweaters and flannel shirts washed and ready to go.

Oooo oooo! My yellow Sailor 1911M Colors fountain pen should arrive next week! I plan on inking it with Pelikan Brilliant Brown ink. It's a cartridge/converter pen. But it's gonna be niiiice. :-) I got out the bottle of Diamine Sapphire Blue for Cat'r. I bought it especially for his beautiful blue Lamy Studio pen. The ink matches the colour of the pen perfectly. He uses Lamy Blue-Black in his Lamy 2000.

I went to New_Hope this morning before Nookington's was open and got the gardening done in town. I also received the "wide-house" model (an award) from the Happy Room Academy for surpassing 100,000 points with them. *And* I received a silver watering can from Posy Farm for buying 50+ packets of flower seeds from Tom Nook.

I took the bus to The City. GracieGrace was actually there in her store. I decided that if I bought one of her outfits and put it on, she might have kinder words for me as regards my fashion sense. Wellll...not exactly. :-P Oh well, I now have two new GracieGrace originals: a trench coat and an blue argyle vest/shirt/top. I already had her elegant hat, elegant umbrella, and tortoise shell glasses. Sonny has her tuxedo and masquerade mask.

I got a shoe shine while I was in The City. My finished basement, a Japanesque room, is still on display at the HRA headquarters. :-) Redd's "showroom" was not open yet, so I just took the bus back to New_Hope. And that mostly ended my visit to New_Hope today.

Then Cat'r thought he might read to me for a while. He's reading me Right Ho, Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse. The Jeeves short stories are always amusing and fun; but this novelette is downright laugh-out-loud funny! There was one time when we were both laughing so hard, Cat'r had to stop and regain his composure in order to continue. :-P While he read to me I knitted along on my choco cherry/champagne scarf I am doing on the knitting needles he gave me for Christmas.

Getting hungry--need lunch soon.

This afternoon we played Dragonland, a very pretty dice/collecting/board game. Then we played our ever-popular Cosmic Wimpout. And finally we played Hearts. Wow, Cat'r shot the moon twice! Bunnicula and I each made a valiant attempt, but neither of us quite made it. Ah well, you never know if you might be able to if you don't try. :-)

Then I cooked and processed my little meals for the next few days. And after I cleared out of the kitchen, it was Cat'r's turn: he made chicken fried rice for B. and him. They are watching Stargate: SG-1. I think it's the last episode. Then they'll have a couple movies to watch in the next couple weeks. Who knows what series they'll watch next?

Meanwhile, I've been ripping CDs. There is a very cute bonus track on Carrie Newcomer's new CD (The Geography of Light) called "Don't Push Send". Too cute! :-P
