Rain, just...rain

We were supposed to have a "mixed bag" of precipitation but it looks like it will be rain, plain and simple. SNOW! We want SNOW!

This is what I'm talkin' about: here are Bunnicula's photos from last March's blizzard.

And here are mine.

Poetry

Just looking over my poetry section on my site...I seem to've stopped writing poetry after the autumn in 2006. I am not sure why that was and is.

I probably need to be in a group that challenges me to write again. I always end up writing obscure things that no one "gets". Heh.

Rock Band

Cat'r didn't bring Rock Band 2 along this weekend, but he did pick up a used copy of Rock Band and another guitar (for when we're going to do guitar and bass).

So we just did two Police songs, one Soundgarden song, and a Radiohead song. I sang on "Roxanne" and "Next To You". We rocked! :-D I did *okay* on "Black Hole Sun". Then I played guitar on "Creep" while Cat'r sang. We did pretty good. :-)

I'll be SO GLAD when they open the music store for DLC for Rock Band 2 (for the Wii)--more Police songs! I have loved The Police for YEARS and have sung along with just about every darn song they've ever done.

Board game fun!

We played that beautiful board game, "The Princes of Machu Picchu", that we played for the first time on December 20, 2008.

I liked it quite a bit the first time we played, and I enjoyed it even more today! It's a game that usually takes a while to play (about 2-1/2 hours today!), but you don't feel like it's dragging and are usually surprised that that much time has gone by!

I have photos of it, but I haven't put them up yet. There's lots of buying and selling and sacrificing at temples (only llamas, and also inanimate goods, NO PEOPLE), plus getting your runner up the mountain to gain "sacrifice cards" (these will determine your victory points at the end, along with how many priests/priestesses and workers you have). You also have to plan in advance how to win, whether or not the Spanish invade...and if you cooperatively decide to save Machu Picchu from the Spanish or not!

Cat'r won with 35 points, I had 33, and Bunnicula lagged behind somewhat.

Time for (late!) lunch!

Twitters of the Day

What I have been twittering about today:

  • 11:31 Finishing my late beakfast; Cat'r playing Rock Band in the living room w/headphones on; Bunnicula working on his web pages. #
  • 13:04 @KenyB Oh! I have read varying theories about walking speed in CF towns. Walking just as bad as running?? Sheesh! #
  • 13:05 Cat'r and me on Rock Band: countrymouse.insanejournal.com/872745.html #
  • 20:11 We either need to reboot the router, or something is up with InsaneJournal. Grr. I love IJ, I'm just tired and cranky. I need sleep. #
  • 20:11 Yay! I gained a pound! I am trying to remember to eat three meals a day. #
  • 20:27 @mindymousie I just forget to eat, so I skip meals. If I could eat chocolate, I'd put the weight on quickly. :-) #
