Fortunes of War

Bunnicula and I finished watching this series today. It turned out to be much better than we thought it was going to be. At times we were very frustrated with what we thought was stupidity on the part of several characters. But on the whole the story felt well-rounded and satisfying.

It stars Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson, who met on this production and married.

Other stuff today etc.

I played more "Legend of Mana"; washed dishes (whoopee); cooked up a batch of little meals for myself; read more in Forever Amber (I'm now about halfway through the almost 1000-page book); and watched the rest of the aforementioned "Fortunes of War".

I am SO GLAD I do not live in the 1660's...anywhere, but especially in London. Ugh! I am in the part of Forever Amber that deals with the Black Death in 1665. No one knew what caused it or how it was transmitted or how to treat it. I am constantly amazed at the various "cures" people used for diseases back then. Again, I am GLAD I live now! Of course people in the future will almost certainly look back at our times and think, "My god, they were barbaric!" and "Didn't they know *any*thing?!".
