CountryMouse's Refuge

Not much on the ground, but we've been getting light fine snow since sometime during the night. It looks like confectioners' sugar on everything! :-)

We might get some actual accumulating snow later this week; but we are DEFINITELY getting some very cold temperatures this coming Friday and Saturday and maybe beyond that. Brrr! But hey, it's winter. :-)

I am going through the archives in both my LiveJournal and my InsaneJournal, checking them against each other to make sure all the posts from LJ made it up onto IJ. In some cases there is one or so missing, so I have to upload it separately, using LJ-Sec.

So far I have done 2001 and 2002. This is mostly just a reminder to myself so I know where to begin again.

When I go through all the archives of my LiveJournal posts, I am not going to bother changing the LJ users' names, i.e. removing the links. That will be just toooo time-consuming. It's enough all the stuff I am doing now, plus I will be checking links in ALL the archived posts after what I am doing now.

I renamed my InsaneJournal tonight to reflect how I felt the night I first came here to IJ and how I see this place now.

That night I truly felt I was on the boat, fleeing a repressive regime, headed towards (the mythical ideal) America and seeing the Statue of Liberty's light gleaming up ahead. And in the days to come, there were so many wonderful people ready and willing to help me make the transition to my new "country".

This indeed is a place of safety, a safe haven, a sheltered harbour, a refuge. I am so happy to be here. :-)
