Oh man, weather scariness

Not real. We are watching "Category 6: Day of Destruction" and the lightning is freaking me out. :-P

Had to break to look at the radar (I know, no storms probably today). No wait, we have a 40% chance of thunderstorms today.

Bunnicula and I just decided to start watching various disaster movies. I thought, "Oh, hurricane, can't happen to us. Safe to watch." Heh. So far we've seen tornadoes level Las Vegas, an oil refinery in the Gulf of Mexico destroyed, 100oF.+ temperatures in Chicago for 4 weeks straight. And now I think we are going to see something like a hurricane in Chicago (?!?).

So of course we had a storm

We got a very localized storm about halfway through the movie, with very strong lightning strikes very very close, over and over again. I'd say this was the worst lightning we've had in years.

After we were already in the midst of the storm, the weather radio went off with a severe thunderstorm warning. Um...okay.

Once it started lightning a LOT, I turned off the TV and just remembered where we had been in the movie. We adjourned to the bedroom, which is less full of electronic equipment. Computers and router and cable modem had already been shut down/unplugged after the first or second clap of thunder.

After the storm we resumed watching the movie. I know, disaster movies are supposed to be cheesy. But the special effects were good, the acting (IMO) was good, and we liked the story. So probably tomorrow we will watch the sequel. :-P

Backtrack to Sunday

Lemme see...on Sunday we slept in.

In the early afternoon Cat'r and Bunnicula played Vikings while I had lunch. After my meal, we all played Zooloretto (funner than I thought it would be) and Power Yahtzee (I always like Yahtzee).

Then we settled in for two episodes of Gordon Ramsay(hubba hubba!)'s Kitchen Nightmares.

I think I'm forgetting something, but I don't know what it is...

Anyway, we had a full and fun weekend. :-)
