Dell laptop scare
Well, I checked my Dell Inspiron B130's battery pack number against those of the recall at Dell's Recall page (they are recalling over 4 million of the battery packs because they might smoke and/or catch on FIRE--ack!).

It looks like mine is safe. But I don't think I'm ever gonna run in on the battery on my lap or flat on the bed. Usually we use it on a tabletop or a little rack-like thing I bought that I can use on the bed. The rack thingee has holes in it and sits up away from the blanket.
I wish I'd never bought this though. It's the last Dell I buy. Next time I get a desktop computer, I'm probably going to get an Acer like Bunnicula got, which is fast and quiet and didn't cost that much. And the laptop...it was a whim. At least Cat'r has something to play around with when he's up here, but I still wish I hadn't gotten a Dell (it was all I could afford).
