It's good to be...
part of a knitting group. I missed last week's meeting (lazy, mostly), but went last night to Cin City Stitch (what we had to change our name to because of copyright wrangles--the Sew Fast, Sew Easy nutjobs).
Anyway, it's just so comfortable and *nice* to be part of a group like this. :-) I worked on the little baby blanket I am making for part of our group charity project (baby blankets for preemies and still-born babies). I plan to make two or so blankets. We will be doing this until May 1st. I forget which hospital these are going to, but it doesn't matter to me--the blankets will be a comfort to whatever families get them. :-)
I said it here (and in a poem) on my site, that there is such a nice easy feeling of sitting and knitting or crocheting in a group. You can join the conversation or let it flow around you. Before last year (when I started going to stitchery groups), I can't remember finding this kind of comfort and camaraderie ever before in my life. Church groups don't count, because there are expectations that you think/believe the same way they do. Well, I've never given the UU a chance in person, so they might be different. :-P But I do so enjoy my knitting groups, especially my Stitch 'N Bitch, errrrrr Cin City Stitch group. :-)
