Christmas weekend

We had a wonderful Christmas. :-)

Saturday, Christmas Eve, was a relaxing, stay-at-home day. We all watched "A Muppet Christmas Carol" in the late afternoon. In the evening Cat'r and I listened to some Nat King Cole Christmas music. Cookies and milk out for Santa, then to bed EARLY (I was tired!).

Sunday, Christmas Day: Wow, we had a big Christmas! Lots of CDs, DVDs, books--our favourite things. :-D We had on soft Christmas music while we opened things. I got all the sets (well, one more on the way still) of the Jeremy Brett "Sherlock Holmes" series! Woohoo! And "Serenity" (widescreen, of course). And the Morrissey concert DVD, "Who Put the M in Manchester?". :-) Lotsa books, lotsa CDs. Bunnicula collects Bratz dolls, so s/he got some of that stuff. :-) There were also Sanrio goodies, some clothes, a Rubik's Cube (for meeee! yay! I wonder what ever happened to my old one?), various cute and unexpected things, and two Ganesh statues! After we finished opening things, Cat'r and I watched most of the Morrissey DVD. Then I fixed cinnamon rolls, a tradition with us. After that phone calls came in, I had a light lunch, etc. In the mid-afternoon B. fixed turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, broccoli in cheese sauce, etc.! We all watched "Christmas in Connecticut" (1945--B/W movie starring Barbara Stanwyck and Dennis Morgan). Later on Cat'r read me A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas, from the hardback version he gave me as a present this year. :-) I knitted while he read. Then after he finished reading to me, I put on some soft holiday music, and I knitted and he read. Very cozy and nice. :-)

Monday, the 26th: Cat'r and I watched the movie "The Hours" (I have SO MANY movies on used DVD that I haven't gotten to yet!) on my little portable DVD player. Interesting movie! Great performances! Cat'r went back down to Louisville in the afternoon. ::sniff::

But we had a wonderful holiday. :-) :-)

Random stuff

I want an iPod Shuffle (the 1GB one). I think it's the incredible portability of the thing that intrigues me. I don't know if I am going to get into serious ripping of CDs. That is sooo time-consuming! But I just want something I can get to easily and have private music (late at night) for knitting or crocheting. I was gonna get out Cat'r's blanket to knit on last night; then I thought: I gotta get out my CD player and some CDs and get all set up and aaarrrgh. I guess I won't. So I"m looking at mid-January for getting an iPod (that's when the one I want is supposed to be back in stock).

::sigh:: The [info]crochet community is gone. I am waiting to see if I will be accepted into a friends-only group called [info]crocheters. I hope so. The former had wonderful information and friendship; but sometimes it could become so drama-filled and blow up so severely that it just made you back off and say, "Whoa!"

Been playing lots of "Animal Crossing: Wild World". In fact, I need to go check and see what Crazy Redd has for sale in his black market tent today in my town of Candleford (Candlefd--only so many letters allowed). I'm closing in on getting the entire Snowman furniture series! And today I have blue hair. :-P (we have a barber shop/beauty parlour in Nookington's--fun!)

Getting tired. I have been up since about 2:30am. I know, keeping weird hours. I need to get a NAP.

Safe wallpaper/desktop download site?

Where is a nice place to get some pretty wallpaper/desktops? I especially want some New Year's and pretty wintry things. I am using Mozilla Firefox, plus other protections. But still........

Any SAFE recommendations? Thanks!
