Handfasting update

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day! It turned out to be the BEST day to take our Priestess up to the park where we plan to have the ceremony. All the trees were in bloom, everything was so lovely! She was in awe of this park. So she got to scope out where we had planned, and she thinks it's a good location. If it storms/rains, we'll not be able to do it there, though--totally open "roof" (more like a grape arbour). Our back-up location is our apartment.

Also added to the mix: we'll be doing a Unity candle as part of the ceremony. The Priestess had first brought it up...last week? So I thought that sounded good. I bought two beautiful white tapers yesterday at Michael's, thinking I would use them with a Goddess candle I had created and had used in rituals in the past. But I got to thinking that we needed a candle, a large pillar candle, that will represent Cat'r's and my relationship together. So today we went back to Michael's, and I got a beautiful pillar candle that matches the tapers + holder for it.

::sigh:: There are a few people close to me that I would love to be able to tell; but I don't think they would take it well or not understand or something. So...oh well, MOST of the folks important to me know about our upcoming handfasting and are happy for us. :-)

Monk

I am SO HAPPY for Monk! He had a good day physically (he has M.S.) and was able to attend his Masonic ceremony inducting him into the Scottish Rite today. He's now a 32d Degree Mason! He was ecstatic when he phoned me a little while ago, telling me about it--not in detail, but his general happiness and people he met and so forth. :-)

When I talked to him last night, he had told me about an infection he's been battling for at least two weeks and that he was hoping would not get in the way of his going today. I asked Cat'r to do some healing thoughts at Monk last night, and I guess they helped! :-)

Anyway, this meant so much to Monk, and I'm very very happy for him. :-)
