Almost ready

for the new season of "Deadwood"! We have four more episodes to watch on DVD, then we'll be ready when it starts on Sunday night. We usually watch two episodes at a clip.

And speaking of TV

Cat'r and I watched the first episode of the new "Amazing Race". I think this batch of folks is not going to be as annoying as the last batch. So far I am rooting for the mom and son from Hamilton, Ohio!!

Cat'r and I have not watched the episode of "American Idol" where you find out the vote results, so do NOT tell me! We have it; we just have to find time to watch it. We've even been VOTING!

Stoopid muddle-headed mouse

I just discovered something that they are doing over at Vikimouse's place: a layering script. BUT you need to do your HTML in notepad or something like. They meaning young kids and teens. My brain must be atrophied with age.

Just looking at the tutorial for doing the layering (of graphics, on the webpage) made my head spin. I use FrontPage. I can manipulate things once they are *in* FrontPage, but I can't do things from scratch. Well, I *can* if I have hours and hours of free time (ha!). But of course by then it feels as if my brains (what little there is of them) are leaking out my ears.

The only reason I have anything remotely "sophisticated" anywhere on my site is that places that offer linkware graphics also offer the HTML code along with it, so you can copy and paste, then edit to suit your site.

This makes me want to take down my site. I don't see how I am ever going to wrap my head around these new things. So many of you folks have no problems whatsoever learning style sheets and other things. I still can't hand-code HTML. I know enough tiny bits and pieces to use them here in LJ. But I hate hate HATE doing it. The reason I use FrontPage in the first place is so I don't have to think about the process but instead can think about the content and layout. I hate having to deal with the nuts and bolts. Reminds me of the old days of using non-GUI things for the 'Net. I can't feel at all creative when I am constantly having to fight to just move around in the program that is supposed to be helping me be creative.

I need sleep. Then I need to forget about online for a while and get back to crocheting, something I *can* wrap my head around. When I look at a pattern, I can actually see some of it forming and how it's supposed to go. And I know, that like a recipe, if it's well-written, all you have to do is be able to follow the instructions.

Yes, I have photos of completed projects to put up...just haven't gotten a round tuit lately.
