Garden of Friendship

Well, I left in November, because I left almost all my groups (the head of Heaven's Angels persuaded me to stay, with a less-demanding committee, so I didn't leave there) because I was feeling very time-pressured.

Then in January one of the Garden Keepers in the GOF died unexpectedly and too young. She was one of the first people to write to me from the Garden, and I think she reviewed my site for admission. She was also the only other "mouse" in the Garden (one takes a nickname in the GOF). Anyway, when she passed, I felt such a strong pull to be back in the Garden. There is supposed to be a three-month waiting period before you can apply for admission again (from the time of leaving), but they waived that.

Last year, when I had applied to the Garden of Friendship (late January), I knew my site would be evaluated/reviewed. I see I was having terrible problems with our web hosting service and things being broken. I was sooo nervous about how my site would appear and if I would be accepted. But they were like the government--I never knew when they came to look at it. All very secret. :-P

THIS time all the folks coming to review my site are signing my guestbook! I don't know if this is adding to the pressure more or less! LOL! I think I am less nervous on the whole, though, since I have been in the GOF before and like the people there and know more what to expect. But still...I have some slightly more controversial things on my site this time, in my Causes section and also on my Diary Index page. I hope that's not going to be a stumbling block.

I was accepted into the GOF last year on February 5th. I don't actually know how long the process takes. I have been getting guestbook entries from site reviewers for the last two days. One of them actually mentioned voting "yes"...ack, I didn't know they actually all take a vote on accepting people into the Garden! I thought it was a decision by the Garden Keepers. But I guess it's the Site Review Committee that votes. Maybe this is a new innovation. Anyway...I am a little nervous. :-D
