Bunnicula's dad...
died either during the night or this morning. He had had quadruple bypass surgery in mid-December, then ended up staying in hospital for a whole month with complications, mostly pneumonia.
Then he was transferred to a "step-down" unit, closer to home, a few weeks (??) ago. But then he had to go back in the hospital because of low oxygen levels in the blood.
So yesterday the docs were talking about his being better and preparing to send him back to the nursing home for some fairly rigorous (for him) physical therapy. The only thing they were having trouble with was curing the pneumonia.
Bunnicula is doing the Zen thing: "chop wood, carry water."
I'm always at a loss writing about stuff like this. It comes off like I am a newspaper reporter. But...oh well.
Oh. For all the etiquette books I read last summer, about proper correspondence and such, I have NO idea of what we are supposed to do next.
