Air-conditioning and soothing purchases
Yesterday our air-conditioning decided not to work! Eep! I am not able to tolerate heat, so I made arrangements for our regular cab driver to take Cat'r and me to our favourite bookstore while Bunnicula held down the fort and talked with the heating-and-cooling repair guys.
So when we got to the bookstore, I was kinda antsy, not really finding anything I wanted to read, whereas Cat'r got started reading The Ring by Koji Suzuki. Then I thought, "Stationery!". I saw some gorgeous writing instrument sets in wooden boxes for $50 and UP. But I found some other goodies instead. Here is what I wrote in my CountryMouse's Diary about this (with illustrations).
Anyway, we were not gone too long. I phoned Bunnicula a couple times from the store. He told me that the A/C guys got it running again (the circuit breaker was off??), and that they hung around for a little bit to make sure it was working okay. Anyway, after things seemed stable, Cat'r and I got a ride home with our driver.
Poor Cat'r: I had had to awaken him out of a sound sleep to accompany me to the bookstore. So I asked what I could do to make it up to him. He said, "Make me sandwiches." So I did, as soon as we got home. I got a thumbs-up on them! :-P
I hope (*knock on wood!*) that the a/c works okay now for the rest of the YEAR and beyond!
