CDs, car doors, etc.
Yesterday it was still relatively mild out (temps in the low 50s (F.)), although there was a damp chilly wind. But Cat'r took me out for a little drive. We went through the park. I even saw and photographed a ROBIN! (I haven't uploaded my pics yet, so...) It was sitting, huddled, on the damp brown grass, looking cold.
Then we went to a little CD store over in the next neighbourhood. I bought a used copy of what is possibly a pirate-y CD called "Sting: Covering Them". It's actually very cool, lots of songs from various concerts about a decade ago, songs written by others. Cool. It's Sting, what can I say?! :-P
And I got a copy (a day early, before the release date!) of the soundtrack of "Gods and Generals", which includes a DVD of Mary Fahl's music video and Bob Dylan's music video, plus bonus footage from the upcoming film. I couldn't watch much of the Dylan video..and I probably won't go see the film: too violent/bloody/realistic for mice. (eep!) But Mary Fahl's video is lovely. It's the same one that was shown on TNT on Super Bowl Night, after "Gone With The Wind".
I really like the music from this film: of course, I would've bought this CD for Mary Fahl's one track ONLY. :-P Her song is called "Going Home" (not Dvorak). But the other music is very beautiful. And I am surprisingly moved by Dylan's song, "'Cross The Green Mountain".
Anyway, after we left the music store, Cat'r had to fiddle with the latch on the passenger-side door again. He carries a screw driver and hammer with him all the time now, in case it's not working right and the door won't close. It didn't look like the door *was* going to close/latch. So we made a couple phone calls, to see about getting our regular cab driver to come pick me up, then for Bunnicula to hotfoot it over to where the car was (Bunnicula is a long-distance walker), and help Cat'r drive home, with Bunnicula in the passenger seat, holding the door closed-as-much-as-possible. However, when I sat in the car, to get out of the wind, Cat'r tried closing the door once more...and it latched! So we phoned everyone back, then headed home. Heh.
That was my adventure for the day. :-D
Today it's cold again, with highs around freezing and lows going down tonight into the teens (F.). Punxsutawney Phil was right: we're back into winter!
