Decisions, decisions...
Bunnicula and I will each have $500 to play around with. I *was* going to use some of it for CDs, bear clothes, pay off the loan to Cat'r for my Nikon Coolpix camera. But then Bunnicula said he's going to get a computer.
And then I thought, geez, I really need one too. So we're both thinking of getting stripped-down cheap computers. What I need: 256MB RAM; I forget how fast a processor, but faster than what I have now; a good 3D video card; a CD-R/W would be helpful but not necessary; speakers would be a good idea, since the ones I am using now have a cracked adapter plug.
I am thinking of getting a Dell, but will the shipping be prohibitive? Should I get something from Circuit City? I don't think I want a eMachine. Cat'r says they have an iffy reputation.
I need something that is FASTER so I can play Disney's Toontown Online with ease, instead of things hanging for 10 seconds or more at times. Everything if so blocky and jaggedy.
I also need Windows XP and don't have the money to just outright buy it anyway.
Aaarrrrggghhh. Suggestions? Advice?
