Watching "9/11"
Well, I did tape "9/11" on Sunday night, then watched it alone on Monday, March 11th, the 6-month anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the U.S. It was very well done, respectful, tasteful, being more about the lives of the firemen of one particular company on days and months before 9/11, that day, and the days following. It was about heroism, comradeship, strength, and love.
My problem, which I should've known would jump me, was all the rush of feelings hours later, almost as if it were 9/11 again. And so hard to get the images out of my head that the firemen's words conjured up. The documentary itself was not gory nor did it show anything graphic; but some sounds and some things the firemen mentioned in passing left imprints in my mind...
I guess I am glad I watched it; and I'm also sorry I watched it. ::sigh:: Now I have to try to forget again, which of course we are not supposed to do...but how else can one get on with one's life and not feel such a terrible feeling of pain and loss everyday, all the time?
