Update on things

Oh, I was supposed to do a protected entry, I see, from a note I made to myself. :-)

I saw the radiation oncologist on Wednesday, January 23d, for my 2-week checkup. He said it looked like the skin had pretty much healed. I don't need to go back for 3 months, as long as there is no problem. *knock on wood!*

So he gave me some little individually-packaged squares of alcohol swabs, to take the magic marker stuff off with. I didn't do it right away, which is a good thing, since it seems the only way the marks are coming off is with dead skin. :-P Yeah, I'm peeling, just as if it were a sunburn. Well, being careful, using a little of the AquaPhor gel/cream they gave me when it looks at all pink underneath (the "tan") and/or stings any.

Mostly I am trying not to think about it and keep my mind on other pursuits. Why waste my time on what has been/what might be? Just do what I need to and get on with life. (tough talk from a little mouse, eh? hehehe)

Books and bears

A bear is there when you need a friend!

I just finished reading a book that was really getting too tense for *this* mouse to read on her own. So I carted Christopher into the bedroom to help me finish it. It's Dance Upon The Air by Nora Roberts. Sort of a "Sleeping With The Enemy" with a witch-y twist. Like those Circle of Three books, but for grown-up women. :-)

Fortunately I already have the second book in the Three Sisters Island trilogy, Heaven and Earth. I got the first two as part of my re-upping membership package from The Doubleday Book Club. :-) The third book of the trilogy is due out in June.

Avoiding the germs...

::sigh:: Cat'r is cold-y, so he is watching "Buffy" and "Smallville" tonight (and taping) in the living room while I am hiding out in my computer room, chatting with [info]thequietfox and reading various stuff and such. :-)
