April 10th, 2001

Books, weather, etc.

Cat'r came over and read to me from "The Jeeves Omnibus". He's a really good, expressive reader; and the material is really hilarious. :-P

We didn't get around to playing the bowling game on the PSX (well, it's a PSone that I have now). But my own copy should be coming in a couple days.

I think my copy of the "Lunar 2: Eternal Blue" strategy guide should arrive tomorrow; and likewise the Love Spirals Downwards CD from Tower Records. :-)

The Weatheradio's alarm kept going off all evening: severe thunderstorms all around us. So far we dodged the bullet; but I don't know about that next batch that will get here in a couple hours or so. I should get SOME sleep before all that happens. :-( Did I ever mention how I really really am scared of storms and such? ::mouse quakes in boots::

Okay, where is

my post? ::sigh:: Okay this and the post right before it, about books and weather, will show up sometime later, I *hope*. I am going to bed. Night all. :-)

Stormy night, stormy day; ramblings

Last night I went to bed around 2:45am, thinking I would later be awakened by the alarm on the Weatheradio going off. I remember at some point awakening, hearing rain against the windowpane, hearing some muffled rumbles of thunder, noticing Bunnicula was in the bathroom, was thirsty and drank a sip of water, then went back to sleep. Cat'r told me later this morning that we had VERY heavy rain and lots of lightning and thunder. Well, I must've been so tired, I didn't really hear it. :-P Which is a good thing. :-)

So I slept until 8am, then got up and had breakfast. I was online briefly (needed to upload VP diary pages, further updated this morning), then needed to get off the phone so Bunnicula could get through to call me about something. So I fiddled with cutting out coupons from the Sunday paper and other "door store" flyers.

I was checking with him about picking up Enya's "A Day Without Rain" for me with the gift certificate I had. He planned on doing that after work.

I did some mending (yay! I had to move buttons on some skirts, since I have lost weight since last summer). And then I checked the news and weather at noon. By that time I was hearing thunder, so I turned off my computer.

So I spent a lot of the afternoon watching random TV programs, not being able to be on my computer, as we were having some fairly hefty thunderstorms.

Bunnicula got home later, with my Enya CD, so I listened to that in the living room (on the stereo, as opposed to listening on the boombox I have in the bedroom) with Christopher on my lap. :-) I know Enya gets accused of a lot of sameness in her music, but it *is* very relaxing and beautiful.

Cat'r has a headache, so is probably going to stay home and relax tonight. I'll trash-tape "Boot Camp" (special night) so he can see it tomorrow or so. :-)

Oh, my stuff I ordered didn't arrive yet. ::pout:: Well, maybe tomorrow. :-)

Boot Camp, interrupted

Bunnicula and I watched "Boot Camp" (trash-taped for Cat'r to watch later). But the broadcast was briefly interrupted to update us on the (what is now being called by police) riot situation here. It's small, compared to what has happened in larger cities; but we haven't had anything like this happen since the late 60s riots. The police are telling people not to come downtown (I guess that is going to be waived for people who actually have to go to work tomorrow morning--thank goodness Cat'r is now working way out from town) and also to two other adjoining areas.
