Neither fish nor fowl

You know, I find my journal entries are kind of...careful, uptight. I think it's that I am not comfortable with saying too much about personal relationships in a public (or even semi-public) forum. I think that talking about the good things is both a way of diluting the power and specialness of the relationship; but also it just might be a "tempting fate/the gods". So...that's why I write things in a type of shorthand here...or not at all, even.

The other things I tend not to write about are things that upset me, as I have this view that if I put the negative things down in real words, it will give them more credence and power, which is kind of the opposite of what I just said in the previous paragraph.

Anyway, these self-imposed constraints rather limit what I talk about here. I will have to think about this some more...

Daytime thoughts

Okay, last night's entry was one of those dark-of-night, introspective entries. I have thought more about what I post here and how and such; and I realized it's just not my style to write in any detail about my personal relationships. You will see the edges and the daily movement of them; but some of the most important parts are and will be kept private, in my heart, for me alone. :-) I'm a mouse: I'm entitled. :-P

ChronoCross

I LOVE this game. So much so I bought the 3-disc soundtrack last year. I played/lived this game last summer; and at some point I will play it again. It is SO beautiful and moving (the story, the graphics, the *music*, everything).

Stuff

I know this is a lot of little entries, but oh well. Off to do some necessary stuff around the house, then Cat'r will be over later sometime. :-)

Good thing I remembered to turn off the WeatherRadio. It's Wednesday, and the local NOAA office always tests the alarm on it on Wednesdays. The alarm on one of these things is meant to be heard in ANY part of a large HOUSE. It can definitely scare the bejeesus outta you if you're next to it! And they never say exactly *when* on Wednesdays they will test: just some time between 11am and 1pm, I think. The weather is in no way "threatening" today, so I don't need to have it on, anyway.

I wonder when Ratty will be down to visit? He said he has some older CDs for me (he's replaced them in his collection with more up-to-date versions). I wonder what they are...Well, I know they are classical/fine arts music; but other than that, they will be a nice surprise. :-)

Off to wash dishes--wahoo, what fun. :-P

The rest of the day

So I washed the dishes and did some cooking. And I got back to reading in "All Tomorrow's Parties" by William Gibson.

Cat'r was over very briefly this afternoon, then sped on his way to an Electronics Boutique to get a new game he was looking for, but was having trouble tracking down. Oh, he was able to get me a used copy of "Star Ocean" for $15! Yay! I am not sure when I will get around to playing it, but at least I have it now. :-)

I had a *late* lunch, then played some "Paper Mario".

Cat'r was back around 5:30 or 6pm; and we watched him play the first 2 or so chapters of "Shadow of Destiny". This is a PlayStation2 game, and it's very beautifully done.

After the guys got pizza delivered, we watched an episode of "Fushigi Yuugi", then Cat'r had to get home.

Catching up on email and other stuff, but hungry. Need to get some supper soon. Oh, that sounds weird, no? Well, I didn't have any pizza. Tomato and acidy foods somehow don't agree with me, so all I could do was sniff the pizza. ::sob::
