Give me a sip of that Hawaiian Punch, please!

::glug glug glug:: ...::hic!:: ::RainFlower transforms into...a MOUSE:: Hey, it's *me*! I was wondering when *I* was going to get to be here! Okay, I will tell you-all later what this is all about...but until then, let me try to do cutting and pasting from my other (rather boring, to me, anyway) LJ. This might be a bit teejus. But bear with me. I hope I can get the dates right and such. We shall see!

Aarrghh...a pain in the arse...

Okay, I have the entries transferred over from rainflower's journal. Now I hope I can transfer the nice comments I got. Here's hoping ::crossing mousie fingers::

Oh well...

bradfitz says it's not possible to transfer the comments from my other journal (username: rainflower), so that's that.

Well, I need to get some sleeeeeeep. Ah, I feel like a Mouse Unleashed! I will explain further when I have more time. It's good to be *me* again and not fragmenting myself off into various parts.

Gonna watch a movie soon...

Yesterday we watched...lemme see...three? episodes of a new (to me) anime called "Black Heaven", about a former rock star who is now a lowly salaryman. Really good!

And we watched the last episode--a two-parter--of "Hanjuku Tamago" (Half-boiled (Soft-boiled?) Egg), a really cute, addictive Japanese sit-com from the 80's. It's so nice to have a subbed version of it now, so that we can figure out what's going on! LOL! It was very fun and interesting to watch in raw Japanese, but a LOT was lost on us.

So I guess we are going to watch a NetFlix movie soon: "Messenger" or "Pleasantville" or "Dangerous Liaisons". We should roll dice or something ::grin::

Waiting for the Caterpillar...

Until Cat'r gets here, so we can watch a movie, Christopher, my new teddy bear, and I will surf around various random journals and see what's up.

I got Christopher for Christmas. He's a cute cute honey-coloured Vermont Teddy Bear. He arrived in a special box with an air hole in it (and instructions inside for the bear to read while he/she is in transit), wearing a white tee shirt, jeans, and little WORKBOOTS! So cute! And he was carrying a bouquet of bear-sized velvet roses for me and chocolate too! Well, I decided I like him better au naturel, so now he looks very Pooh-ish. I'll have to take pictures of him with and without clothes (*that* sounds kinky--believe me, it's not), so I can show him off to the world.

The other out-of-this-world present I got for Christmas was the boxed set of "serial experiments lain" DVDs, which comes in a collector's lunchbox and has a special CD of Boa's songs (opening theme of lain and about 3 other songs from their upcoming CD). So cool! I *love* this anime!

More surfing...::Christopher waves at the screen::

The Messenger

We ended up watching "The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc" starring Milla Jovovich, John Malkovich, Faye Dunaway, and Dustin Hoffman. I enjoyed it pretty well--there were even a couple of times I got the chills from scenes and emotions. There were, however, times that I thought Milla was being directed to play Joan as possibly having an hallucination-producing brain tumor (a la "Phenomenon"). I felt her acting was much stronger in the latter part of the movie, during the interrogation scenes, than earlier on.

As to Joan's fate: I see a similarity to what happened to her after she outlasted her usefulness to the political powers to that of T.E. Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia"), although he only got "kicked upstairs" (promoted) out of the way, out of the theatre of war (although there are conspiracy theories about his possible assassination in 1935, when he died in a motorcycle accident, which might not've been wholly an accident); whereas Joan became such a (perceived) liability to the French government, that they colluded with the Church to get her *permanently* out of the way. ::sigh::

I discovered a new (to me) singer via this soundtrack: Noa, from Israel. I plan to get a couple of her CDs!
